Plexbräuhaus Hosts Austria to Austin Student Startup Exchange

What a group! On July 21st Plexbräuhaus hosted a group of 20 Austrian entrepreneurs participating in 3 Day Startup's Austria to Austin Exchange Program. The program, now in its 4th year, creates an intense, high energy exchange where standout Austrian university students become innovation bridges between the U.S. and Austria.

Austria to Austin exchange participants use the exchange experience to build companies, pursue non-traditional career paths, and make an impact in their local ecosystem. When selecting the final participants for the exchange each year, we consistently look for curious students with high character, proven work ethic, and an eagerness to learn from failure and success. With the most competitive applicant pool to date, we vetted university students through an intensive interview process consisting of written applications, video interviews, and a final panel interview with the US Embassy Vienna. The candidates that emerged as the final participants are all Austrian university students, who aspire to create impact in their respective fields through entrepreneurship.

Plexbräuhaus founders Stephen Looney and Daniel Kietzer gave some relaxed presentations on American homebrew culture and process, provided insights on building businesses from hobbies and passions, demo’ed the Plexbräuhaus apps, and shared plenty of bräu with our new friends from Austria.

We love hosting groups at the Plexbräuhaus - if you’re looking to host a unique event with elements of entrepreneurship and community, hit us up at cheers@plexbrau.haus.
